A Celebratory Release For a Legendary Anniversary

Legend has it that Papa finished writing his Pulitzer & Nobel Prize winning literary piece, The Old Man and the Sea, while aboard the Pilar. The story is a product of a lifetime of writing, one that sat in Hemingway’s life for over 16 years. He declared it to be the finest he could ever write in his life. And, this year marks the 70th Anniversary of its publishing date.


It only seemed right that, this year, we honor this piece of Papa's history with our annual commemorative release. The Legacy Edition 2022 is a Dark Rum blend made of nine premium rums sourced from diverse geographies around the world and finished in French Oak Apple Brandy casks.


To celebrate this very special anniversary, we have partnered with Dr. Guy Harvey himself to raise awareness for our oceans. For every bottle purchased of the Legacy Edition 2022, $20 will be donated to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation to fund reef conservation, restoration and education. And, the celebration doesn't stop there. This year's release features a one-of-a-kind, Papa's Pilar first.... An augmented reality experience, bringing The Old Man and the Sea story to life with Dr. Guy Harvey's works of art!
